Small teams ship
Two people who know the problem beat a department that has to be briefed. We keep project teams small and meetings shorter.
THE STUDIO
Eleven people, three countries, one rule: never take on more work than we can do carefully.
Cedarline started in 2019 in a borrowed office in Tallinn. Three of us had spent years building internal tools for logistics and payment companies, and we kept meeting the same problem: software that was bought for the demo and abandoned in the second year.
So we started taking on small, specific jobs — one workflow, one team, one clear result — and staying afterwards to keep them running. Most of our work still arrives by word of mouth from people who saw one of those tools in use.
Today we are eleven: six engineers, two designers, a writer, a support lead, and one person who does nothing but talk to clients and write things down. We work with teams in Europe and the Middle East, mostly in the same time zones we live in.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Two people who know the problem beat a department that has to be briefed. We keep project teams small and meetings shorter.
The database that has existed for twenty years will still be maintained in ten. We choose the option that ages well, not the one that demos well.
Where it is possible, the tool runs on your machine or your server. We do not want to hold your business data, and you should not want us to.
Scope, price, date, and what happens if the project stops. All of it in writing before anyone opens an editor.
A SHORT TIMELINE
Founded in Tallinn by three engineers. First client: a freight forwarder who needed one reporting script.
Our first desktop product, built for surveyors, which is still updated every month five years later.
Opened a second base for client support in the Middle East, in the same time zone as half our clients.
Eleven people, forty-plus shipped projects, and a rule against growing faster than we can answer email.
A short email is enough. We answer within two business days, and we will tell you honestly if this is not a job for us.
